Essex 2020’s ambition is to create a programme of events that will inspire local communities and encourage awareness of, participation & engagement in STEAM.
This vision seeks to enable every citizen of Essex to attend and be inspired by STEAM activities whatever their age, background or location. A priority of the programme is that under-represented groups or those with barriers to engagement should feel empowered to attend and get involved.
Essex 2020’s legacy will be in creating networks with the power to build better connected and more prosperous communities - boost involvement, engagement, participation and collaboration with community groups, businesses and educational institutions and ‘connect us to the world’.
Now we want to hear from you!
If you have a STEAM-related event planned for 2020, have a great idea to celebrate STEAM achievements in your organisation, or are seeking funding to turn your STEAM idea into a reality – your first step is to complete the Expression of Interest form.
The programme is already taking shape thanks to involvement from BBC Essex, British Science Festival, Digital Skills Partnership, Essex Cultural Diversity Project, Essex Museums, METAL, Orchestras Live, NHS, Fairleigh Hospice, Royal Opera House Bridge, Signals, Southend Tech, Studio 808 and many more.
We are very keen to hear from more community groups and grassroots organisations.
