Powerful new insight

2020 is certain to be a year of action for the Essex Centre for Data Analytics (ecda) with several of our key projects due to deliver insight.

We're currently working on joining data to further support our recovery from COVID-19, to better understand the impact on people and places within Essex, and plan public service delivery according to demand.

During August-October we will be delivering valuable new insight on escalating domestic abuse, mental health crisis, statutory homelessness, avoidable A&E attendance and gangs and county lines. ecda will continue to provide a data analytics service, using its new cloud-based data sharing platform, to enable partners to safely share data and deliver actionable insight that informs early intervention and preventative services across the county.

Initial insight generated on mental health crisis by combining adult social care data with drug and alcohol data, and Experian Mosaic data has helped Essex County Council Commissioners to identify crossovers between mental health, social care and drug and alcohol services. To further support agency collaboration, the work is expanding to include Essex Partnership University Trust data. The ambition is to design an early warning system that identifies opportunities to intervene earlier and prevent our most vulnerable citizens reaching crisis.
