New technologies shaping Essex communities

'The power of technology in new communities' - the latest in the series of Essex Communities workshops - brought national experts to Essex recently to discuss the scale of growth required in the county and the challenges and opportunities this affords for shaping  new places.

Speakers at the event shared their experiences around the increasing connectivity and digitisation of our lives and cities, the implementation of health and care solutions within communities, and ambitious goals to develop congestion free and energy independent cities.

The workshop series, commissioned by Essex Partners and supported by NESTA, is enabling Essex leaders to discuss their vision for future communities in the county, and the opportunity to align this with the goals and values of their own organisations. Participants took away new ideas and insights and were encouraged to think about the actions that they can take forward to positively influence and engage with new housing developments.

The next event on 7th June is being run in partnership with the Office of the Police Fire and Crime Commissioner and will focus on designing safe communities, for more information contact essex.partners@essex.gov.uk
